LITTLE MIRACLES – THE SPINNEY
Created in 1972, The Spinney, a centre in which the Local Community Association could run a play scheme, was founded by Peterborough Development Corporation and the City Council. The building was threatened with closure on numerous occasions but the local community fought hard to keep it open. Sadly, in the summer of 2013 the council made the decision to close the centre, leaving the parents and children without this widely used and much loved centre. The BBC show DIY SOS came to the rescue and hundreds of volunteers came together the rebuild the centre.
RCM made the decision to donate their specialist Cladcolour façade – a pre-finished fibre cement cladding panel which requires minimal maintenance and is easy to install, making it perfect for this build.
